Deep Abdominal Breathing - Daily grounding and when feeling overwhelmed
This can be done seated or lying down. Place one hand over the diaphram (over the solar plexus) and the other just under the belly button (over the sacral chakra), close eyes and breath deeply. Breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. Allow the breath to travel deep into the body, right down into the abdomen. The abdomen will distend (push out) when you have reached the correct depth of in breath. You will be pushing your hands away on each in breath and your hands will sink down into the stomach on each out breath. You will notice a calm rhythmic pattern developing. Do this until you start to feel grounded and calm. Aim to do a minimum of 5 breaths in and out.
